Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer will support the production and manufacturing processes for aerospace components, ensuring products meet quality, cost, and delivery targets. This role requires expertise in engineering principles, a deep understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product designs, optimize production efficiency, and maintain compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities:

1. Identify manufacturing needs for new product development.2. Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for aerospace components, ensuring adherence to engineering designs and specifications.3. Work closely with design engineers to review new product designs for manufacturability, providing feedback on material selection, assembly processes, and tolerance requirements.4. Implement and monitor quality assurance protocols, ensuring compliance with aerospace industry standards (e.g., AS9100, FAA regulations) and customer specifications.5. Create and maintain detailed process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Provide regular reports on production metrics and performance.6. Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.7. Work closely with production teams, quality control, supply chain, and project managers to ensure smooth and efficient operations.8. Generate ideas for fixtures and assembly jigs.9. Support the tender process for equipment to ensure the best quality for best price.10. Carry out FMEAs, (Failure Mode Effects Analysis) process documentation and implement improvements.11. Time to time follow up with vendors about manufacturing components.12.

Skills required

Technical Skills

- Strong understanding of aerospace materials, processes, and technologies.- Good understanding of manufacturing processes including turning, milling, EDM, forming, bending, rolling, moulding, surface finishing and welding processes.- Proficient in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, CATIA, SolidWorks) and CAM software.- Knowledge of aerospace quality standards (AS9100, NADCAP, etc.).- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with cross-functional teams.
