The Technical Program Manager would own the end-to-end delivery of the Softlines (Apparel, Shoes, Jewelry, Luggage, Watches, Beauty) Search initiatives.
Search is the one of the pivotal areas of Amazon Retail experience. Our vision for Search is to provide easy and increased access to world-class CXs across our customer shopping journey for different types of customers (new, unsettled, settled, prime The charter and responsibilities includes developing technically complex solutions to improve the relevance of results shown by Amazon Product Search for Softlines products, ranking the products based on multi-objective optimization ML models developed by the International Machine Learning team to introduce diversity, personalization and customer-cohort brand preferences, expanding relevant feature sets to/across all marketplaces, improving the overall customer experience of Softlines product listing, and selection discovery across the shopping funnel at Amazon.
TPM will work with their counterpart Search Product Managers and teams across India, US, EU and MENA locales to identify a federated roadmap of delivery of features across the marketplaces. They will own the delivery and expansion of IN marketplace’s Softlines Relevance feature sets across other marketplaces.
Browse:
The TPM will own the delivery of the Browse experience for Softlines.
Browse on Amazon Fashion intends to excite, inspire and engage the Amazon customer and initiate their journey to purchase. The charter for Browse over the next 3 years – is to develop dynamic browse CX and templates that can help the content and creative team to customize the shopping experience based on season, events, trends and provide a basket building immersive experience for customers.. The Browse CX will provide relevant, personalized brand preferences, variations based on market relevant and seasonality trends developed by deep Generative AI and ML models . The charter will include the tooling for Content and Creative teams to generate the immersive CX, faster and effortlessly.
TPM will work with the WW Marketing teams, Browse platform team, WW Browse teams and aim to deduplicate the efforts across the teams while delivering of the Browse feature sets.
IDQ:
Customer Shopping experience on Amazon hinges on the quality of catalog data – highly accurate and correct data enables the relevant, personalized products to be discovered by customers. It enables the customer to make right product choices by accurate recommendations of size, fit and complementary products. It provides the next in class inspirational shopping experience for customers by surfacing the latest trending products, NSM etc.
Catalog Data Quality has been a reactive programmatic corrective action by several teams. IN SL, ML and WW teams are tackling to solve the problem through Generative AI and ML models.
TPM will champion this area to bring synergy among the programmatic actions that is taken and the tech work across the various teams. TPM will ThinkBig and Invent & Simplify to “shift left”, enable HOTW tech models. The leader will work with Product Management to surface the right balance of investment in tech and programmatic levers.
General
Technical Program Manager will provide both long form written and verbal updates to leaders across organizations at the level of VPs. The TPM will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. The person must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities.
The person will put in place the right mechanisms to align strategy, roadmap and execution against our long-term business plan. Build the mechanisms for the right partnerships to flourish between tech teams and business stakeholders like Business, Tech and Product such that we continue to be delighted about shipping our high-quality products to our customers. The person will develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives while rolling up the sleeves to get the job done. This role will require high judgement and critical thinking on how we can deliver for customers in both the short- and long-term.
Key job responsibilities
You will be responsible for the strategic roadmap and tactical milestones of the Program.
* You will own the Monthly Program Reviews and leadership updates for the Program , you will be required to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, to a wide range of audiences including Directors and VPs across SDO businesses
* You will be responsible to drive decisions in an ambiguous environment by proactively identifying risks and bringing them to the attention of stakeholders with mitigation plans before they become roadblocks.
* You will be responsible for diving deep into data and metrics, understanding them well to drive and influence decisions and stay connected to the details
* You will need a strong bias for action and be able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
* Your ability to understand the big picture and plan ahead for dependencies and roadblocks is crucial.
* Throughout, you will internalize Amazon’s Leadership Principles, and live those into everyday practices to guide your programs to success.
* Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
* Strong communication, data analysis and execution skills, ability to use data driven analysis and high judgement to make decisions
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience
