C++ Tutor

Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced C++ tutor to provide personalized instruction and guidance to students of varying skill levels. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of C++ programming concepts and a passion for teaching. As a C++ tutor, you will work closely with students to help them understand fundamental principles, develop problem-solving skills, and achieve their learning objectives. You will be responsible for developing lesson plans, assessing student progress, and communicating as needed. 

Responsibilities:

• Conduct one-on-one or group tutoring sessions with students to review C++ programming concepts, syntax, and techniques.
  
• Assess students' proficiency levels and learning styles to tailor tutoring sessions accordingly. 
  
• Assist students in completing assignments, projects, and exercises related to C++ programming.
  
• Provide clear explanations and examples to help students grasp complex topics and overcome challenges.
  
• Foster a supportive and encouraging learning environment to promote student engagement and motivation.
  
• Offer constructive feedback and guidance to help students improve their programming skills and problem-solving abilities.
  
• Stay updated on developments in C++ programming language and related technologies to enhance tutoring effectiveness.
  
• Communicate regularly with students and/or their parents/guardians to track progress, address concerns, and provide updates on learning objectives. 
  

• MUST BE eligible to work in the United States of America and have a valid Social Security Number; Note: We do not sponsor visas at this time
  

• MUST BE Committed to tutoring for the duration of the assignment with a possibility of extension
  

• MUST Be able to pass a background check
  

• Great interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt and relate to students from diverse backgrounds
  

• MUST HAVE your own computer and be technologically savvy (email, texting, Slack, Google Sheets/Excel)
  

• MUST HAVE a selfless commitment to making a difference in students' lives
  

Qualifications and Skills:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt and relate to others from diverse backgrounds.
  

• Strong organizational and time management skills.
  

• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  

• Be eligible to work in the United States of America and have the documentation to prove it.
  

Requirements

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERTISE:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  
• Strong proficiency in C++ programming language, with practical experience developing applications and solving problems.
  
• Prior tutoring or teaching experience, especially in C++ or related subjects, is highly desirable.
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively.
  
• Patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for helping students learn and succeed.
  
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and individual needs.
  
• Reliable internet connection and access to necessary software/tools for conducting online tutoring sessions, if applicable.
  
• Flexibility to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate students' schedules.

• This position is a CONTRACT job. Contract Tutor will receive W-9 and must file/pay their own taxes.

Requirements
