DevSecOps Engineer Level 2
Rolesand ResponsibilitiesRequirements:
  • TheDevSecOps Engineer Level 2 provides seniorlevelplatform management architecture and support the unification andautomation of processes to enable the development of softwarecapability across the entire DOL organization instrumental incombining code application maintenance and applicationmanagement.
  • Create lead and implement the toolsto deliver an automated CI/CD pipeline based DevSecOps system capable of supporting containers compiledsoftware applications scripts and source code in a precompiledstate.
  • The DevSecOps engineerLevel 2 brings a strong understanding of thedevelopment lifecycle goals and the transactions occurring withinpipelines scanning tools deployments and all development lifecyclesteps.
  • Work across the development securityoperations and infrastructure (HW and SW) teams to ensure that theDevSecOps tools and processes support the holistic systemdevelopment integration and fielding effort.
  • Works actively with application developmentteams to coordinate and optimize the steps that execute within theDevOps ecosystem and bring consistency and best practices inapproach tools and standards. Also create and maintain fullyautomated Continuous Integration (CI) build and ContinuousDeployment (CD) processes which include writing builds anddeployment scripts. Actively participates and provides inputs inmajor design decisions working with Architects.
  • Designs and develops the system to set thestandard for future development and craft an architecture thatsmoothly works with existing infrastructure without compromisingsecurity.
  • Identifies and introduces newopportunities to build platformbased solutions to help users meettheir toughest challenges.
  • Demonstratesexperience identifying marketplace plugins and/ordesigning/developing custom connectors as needed.
  • Supports DOL to set the longterm strategy androadmap for each team s platform standardization modernization andprocess/tool adoption. ExperienceRequirements :
  • Bachelor s degreewith seven (10) plus years ITdevelopment experience (with a minimumof 5 years of experience in DevSecOps practice& tools ).
  • Experiencebuilding DevSecOps services in IaaS/PaaS/SaaS inCloud (AWS Azure) environments and goodunderstanding of their securityconsiderations.
  • Familiarity withcontainerization and orchestration tools like Dockerand Kubernetes.
  • Experiencewith Kubernetes Docker and/or other cloudorchestrationtechnologies.
  • Experience withCI/CD best practices automated buildsand tests quality gates software quality and CI tools i.e.Jenkins Ansible Terraform etc.
  • Experience with configuration managementtools i.e. Git GitHub GitLab Bitbucket others; Familiarity withbranching strategies gated commits sourcecontrolled managementetc.
  • Familiarity with the principleof DevSecOps; Atlassian JIRA or otherdefect tracking tool experience.
  • Atlassian Confluence GitLab/GitHub Jenkins and artifact repository experience.
  • Familiarity withsecurity coding standard best practices static and dynamic scanningtools i.e. SonarQube Fortify CoverityPCLint etc.
  • Programming andscripting experience in a UNIX environment (Bash Shell PowerShell Perl Python BashRuby Shell Scripts); Must have Agile/SAFe and otherrelated developer certifications and or demonstrate equivalentexperience.
