What You’ll Do:As a Software Engineer II in the Storage team, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable storage systems. Your responsibilities will include:Design and implement scalable and reliable services utilising a combination of private and public cloud (AWS) infrastructure.Continue to optimise and evolve our existing Storage services.Eager to learn new technology including Mimecast specific tools. Be proactive in asking for help for continuous skill development.Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for architectures, processes, and procedures.Provide support during critical incidents and implement preventive measures.Monitor and analyze AWS usage, providing recommendations for cost savings without compromising system performance and reliability.Craft resilient, secure, and efficient code, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
What You’ll Bring:Demonstratable ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and contributing to a positive team culture.Demonstratable expertise in Java development, with a strong command of Java 11 and above.Experience in developing, and optimizing backend systems for data processing at scale within AWS.Experience with foundational AWS services, such as ALB, ECS, S3, EFS, ElastiCache, IAM, or CloudWatch would be would be beneficial.Experience with Junit, Mockito is preferred.Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.Experience with Jenkins and establishing robust CI/CD pipelines.
