Job Description: As a Natural Gas Trading Specialist, you will be responsible for managing a dedicated natural gas desk. This role requires a flexible, floating schedule to accommodate the dynamic nature of the market. You will analyze price action (PA), monitor market trends, and execute trades independently, ensuring all activities align with our strategic objectives. You will report directly to senior management and will be entrusted with significant responsibilities in your decision-making process.
Key Responsibilities:
● Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth technical and fundamental analysis of the natural gas market to identify trading opportunities.
● Trade Execution: Independently execute trades based on real-time market analysis, ensuring optimal timing and strategy and approval from the team.
● Risk Management: Implement robust risk management strategies to protect capital and ensure sustainable trading performance.
● Reporting: Provide regular updates and detailed reports on trading activities, market conditions, and performance metrics to senior management.
● Approval Process: Seek brief approval for trade sizes and major strategic decisions before execution.
● Collaboration: Engage in discussions with the team to refine strategies and share insights, while maintaining the autonomy of your trading desk.
Qualifications:
● Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in natural gas trading, with a proven track record of successful trades and market analysis.
● Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in technical analysis tools and platforms, with the ability to interpret complex data and market signals.
● Fundamental Knowledge: Deep understanding of the fundamental factors affecting natural gas markets, including supply and demand dynamics, geopolitical influences, and regulatory impacts.
● Analytical Thinking: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
● Communication: Excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
● Drive and Initiative: Self-motivated and driven, with the ability to work independently and sustain high performance in a fast-paced environment.
● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CMT) are a plus.
