Job Description :


The DNA and NaaS Lead is dedicated to the design, build and operation of end user products tightly integrated with our digital experience and network infrastructure. You will be responsible to engineer bespoke applications and Orchestration workflows as a subject matter expert in the Digital Networks team, developing new use cases and delivering them on our Container as a Service (CaaS) and Service and Network Orchestration platform whilst incorporating the DevOps way of working.


1. Develop well-prepared, accurate engineering network design documentation


2. Act as a Subject Matter Expertise role for the relevant technology area across multiple technology domains


3. Complete all required training courses within the allocated timeframes.


4. Develop microservices and/or frontend assets in accordance to specifications


5. Design and develop system and system integration tests


6. Participate in the design of new features and scoping of sprint backlogs


7. Apply strict quality control to development with the use of Test-driven development methods


8. Design and develop system and system integration tests


9. Participate in the review of other engineers work via Pull Requests


10. Participate in the design of new features and scoping of sprint backlogs


11. Implement system metrics and develop monitoring dashboards


12. Participate in the development of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines


13. Creation of technical training material and delivery of training / presentation to both technical and non-technical audiences


14. Building personal and professional relationships necessary to operate as a trusted technical expert


15. Balance conflicting technical and financial requirements


16. Developing technical scoping documentation from product requirements


17. Communicating complex technology solutions to other technical and non-technical staff


18. Governance of contracting staff performing BAU provisioning functions.


19. Liaise with stakeholders such as internal and external development teams, and relevant IT/Networks teams ensuring ensure all stakeholders are considered and are informed of issues and risks in production. This will be measured by the number of escalations pertaining to lack of communication of production issues and risks.


20. Develop Subject Matter Expertise for the managed within VSSD. Ensure that all standard operating procedures, known issues and workarounds are documented in the knowledge support systems (i.e. wiki)


21. Follow Change Management processes and procedures ensuring all necessary documentation is completed in necessary timeframes.


22. Maintain DN systems and make recommendations for improvements to those systems. Develop code and change config to facilitate the improvements.


23. Resolve DN incidents within SLAs. This will be measured by the IT fault management reporting systems.


24. Maintain and Operate the DN Container platform ensuring hazardous conditions are remediated before they become service impacting.


25. Be accountable to deliver the platforms and tools to allow consistent, traceable and automated management and testing of application releases between Non-Production and Production environments.


26. Extensive experience in Cloud Computing Environments such as VMware, OpenStack, Kubernetes


27. Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible, Automation, cloud deployment technologies


28. Expertise in the Network as a Service and API technologies


29. Understanding of Apigee and API Gateway


30. Lead, champion and advocate the orchestration and Network as a service architecture and initiatives within Optus and SingTel


Responsibilities :


1. Working as part of a professional, efficient team and leveraging of the strengths of other team members.


2. Willing to adjust to latest technology in a rapidly changing technological environment


3. Efficient management of concurrent tasks


4. Learning and understanding the Group Consumer business, in particular, the vision, strategies, goals, objectives, key performance indicators and performance trends.


5. Understanding the diverse technology landscape across SingTel and Optus, and the various business-driven initiatives for the Group Consumer business.


6. Guiding the right technology choices when faced with short term business objectives which are misaligned with the mid to long term IT strategic direction, and trade-offs between the needs of a Business division vs the broader Corporate objectives.


7. Flexibility around working hours particularly when major incidents or events are in progress


8. Managing to project timelines and budget with limited access to business stakeholders and process SMEs.


9. Assist with onboarding greenfield projects to the container platform and migration of legacy applications to the container platform.


10. Pioneering the architecture of smart voice platform and its capabilities.


11. Driving adoption or inspiring the use of automation, which will result in a direct cost/people impact to the business.


12. Gaining deep and broad understanding of technology developments and best practices for the Telecommunication and ICT industry.
