To be a successful Senior SAP PP Variant Configuration Consultant embody GBSI's core employee characteristics of being passionate about IT, taking full ownership of your work & having a growth mindset. Additionally, you will exhibit strategic vision, thoughtful engagement, strong analytical/process skills, a bias for action, and the ability to partner with senior operational leaders.

Work you'll do/Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their manufacturing processes and product configuration needs.
  • Configure and customize Variant Configuration models in SAP PP to support complex product structures and options.
  • Design and implement rules, dependencies, and constraints for product variants using SAP VC.
  • Develop and maintain product models, characteristics, and classes in SAP VC.
  • Integrate Variant Configuration with other SAP modules such as Sales and Distribution (SD), Materials Management (MM), and Production Planning (PP).
  • Provide technical expertise and support for SAP PP Variant Configuration projects.
  • Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of Variant Configuration solutions.
  • Document functional specifications, technical designs, and configuration guides.
  • Provide training and knowledge transfer to end-users and support teams.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience working with SAP PP Variant Configuration.
  • Strong understanding of SAP PP module and its integration with Variant Configuration.
  • Proficiency in configuring Variant Configuration models, characteristics, and dependencies.
  • Experience with configuring product structures, routings, and bills of materials (BOMs) in SAP PP.
  • Knowledge of SAP ERP implementation methodologies and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

What qualifications you need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.

    What will give you an edge:

  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC.
  • Knowledge of SAP VC integration with SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) and Materials Management (MM).
  • Familiarity with SAP VC enhancements and customizations.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and industry-specific requirements.
  • Experience with project management and stakeholder management.
