Job Title: Looker BI Lead Experience -5+ Location: Remote Contract Type: Contract Role Summary We are seeking an experienced Looker BI Lead to drive end-to-end BI solutioning within the Looker platform. This role involves owning the Looker semantic layer, optimizing data models, and enabling advanced analytics capabilities, including conversational BI and root-cause analysis (RCA). The position requires strong technical depth, hands-on LookML expertise, and the ability to collaborate across multi-functional teams to deliver high-quality analytical solutions. Key Responsibilities Own, design, and maintain the Looker semantic layer , including LookML model architecture, optimization, and lifecycle management. Partner with the Data Architect to ensure data structures support efficient and scalable Looker Explores. Design and deliver complex Looker dashboards , particularly for financial, subledger, and operational reporting needs. Integrate Looker Narratives and Gemini AI capabilities to enhance automated insights and analytics intelligence. Ensure strong governance across all Looker assets, including version control, data governance, and access management . Support the Solution Architect during pilot deployments, including IaC integration, environment setup, and technical validation . Required Skills & Qualifications 5+ years of experience in BI/Analytics, with 3+ years of hands-on Looker development . Deep proficiency in LookML , SQL (BigQuery) , and dashboard/performance optimization best practices. Experience integrating BI platforms with AI/ML services , including Vertex AI and Gemini . Practical knowledge of Looker API automation , Git-based version control, and CI/CD pipelines for BI environments. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, architecture, and business teams.
