Purpose of the role:

The key purpose of a senior accountant is to oversee financial operations and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

This includes maintaining accurate records of financial transactions, preparing financial statements, and managing accounts payable and receivable. Additionally, the senior accountant is responsible for understanding and applying GST (Goods and Services Tax) regulations, ensuring proper classification of goods and services, and filing GST returns in a timely manner. Knowledge of TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) regulations is also essential for deducting and remitting taxes as required by law.

Overall, the role of the senior accountant is crucial in maintaining financial integrity, minimizing tax liabilities, preparing MIS reports for the management to make informed decisions and facilitating smooth operations within the F&B sector while adhering to legal and regulatory frameworks.

Prerequisites:

  • 5 to 6 years of experience in the role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally ERP 9, coupled with advanced Excel skills for efficient financial data management.
  • In-depth knowledge of Indian accounting standards (IND AS) and relevant regulatory frameworks governing the F&B industry.
  • Experience in managing inventory accounting, cost control, and variance analysis to optimize operational efficiency and minimize wastage.
  • Familiarity with GST regulations, including classification of food items, input tax credit calculations, and timely filing of GST returns.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal stakeholders, external auditors, and regulatory authorities effectively.

Working Hours:

6 days a week, with a weekly off on Sunday

Salary:

Will be discussed and based on several factors such as experience and current pay scale. We initiate our offers for this role from INR 35,000.
