Job Purpose:

To lead die maintenance operations ensuring optimal die performance, minimal downtime, and strict adherence to safety and quality standards. The role includes strategic planning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

Role & responsibilities

1. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

  • Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for dies.

  • Monitor die performance and implement corrective actions to prevent failures.

2. Safety Compliance

  • Ensure all die maintenance activities comply with plant safety protocols and legal regulations.

  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments related to die handling and maintenance.

  • Promote a safety-first culture among the maintenance team.

  • Ensure use of PPE and safe operating procedures during die maintenance and handling.

  • Maintain documentation for safety incidents, corrective actions, and compliance reports.

  • Collaborate with EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) team for training and awareness programs.

3. Team Leadership

  • Supervise and guide die maintenance technicians.

  • Conduct skill assessments and training to enhance team capabilities.

4. Troubleshooting & Repairs

  • Lead root cause analysis for die failures.

  • Coordinate quick and effective repair strategies to minimize downtime.

5. Inventory & Spare Management

  • Manage inventory of die components and spares.

  • Optimize stock levels to balance availability and cost.

6. Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, inspections, and repairs.

  • Ensure compliance with ISO/TS standards and internal audits.

7. Continuous Improvement

  • Drive Kaizen, TPM, and lean initiatives to improve die life and reduce costs.

  • Implement innovative solutions for die performance enhancement.

8. Vendor Coordination

  • Coordinate with external vendors for die refurbishment and technical support.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Strong understanding of press tools, die design, and machining.
  • Experience in TPM, Kaizen, and lean maintenance practices.
  • Familiarity with CMMS and safety management systems.
