What you will do:
Role Overview:
In this individual contributor role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing surveillance strategies, identifying and mitigating risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving operational efficiency. Your strong analytical skills, technical expertise, and ability to communicate effectively will be key to your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Surveillance Strategy and Planning:
Develop and implement effective strategies to monitor activities and identify potential risks.
Continuously assess and refine surveillance processes and tools to enhance effectiveness.
Risk Identification and Mitigation:
Identify and analyse potential risks and vulnerabilities within operational activities.
Design and apply risk mitigation strategies to address identified issues.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure adherence to applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Stay updated on relevant regulations and integrate changes into surveillance practices.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Analyze complex data sets to identify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights.
Prepare and present detailed reports with findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align on surveillance activities and address issues.
Communicate findings effectively to support informed decision-making and resolution of problems.
Operational Efficiency and Process Improvement:
Evaluate existing processes and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Implement best practices and innovative solutions to streamline operations and reduce manual effort.
Who you are:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CFE) are a plus.
Experience:
5-7 years of experience in surveillance, monitoring, data analysis, or a related field. Previous experience in non-broking industries is welcome.
Demonstrated ability to adapt and apply skills to new environments and industries.
Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience interpreting complex data.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical information for diverse audiences.
Proven track record in developing and implementing effective strategies and ensuring compliance.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python) is beneficial.
