Web Application Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our to manage our web infrastructure and sites. This role involves overseeing the hosting and maintenance of our website, content management, database etc. and ensuring their smooth operation and performance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of web infrastructure, coding tools,, proficient bug-fixing abilities, and a keen eye for detail to uphold our digital platforms' integrity.


Responsibilities:

  1. Website Maintenance: Regularly monitor, maintain, and update our website and mobile application hosting to ensure seamless functionality and optimal user experience.
  2. Coding and Development: Utilise coding knowledge to implement new features, enhancements, and functionalities across digital platforms as required.
  3. Bug Detection and Resolution: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues, bugs, and glitches promptly to minimise downtime and maintain platform reliability.
  4. Performance Optimisation: Conduct performance analysis and implement optimisation strategies to enhance website and app speed, responsiveness, and overall performance.
  5. Security Management: Implement and maintain robust security measures to safeguard against cyber threats, ensuring data integrity and user privacy.
  6. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including developers, designers, and stakeholders to coordinate updates, resolve issues, and implement changes effectively.
  7. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of website and app configurations, updates, and troubleshooting procedures for reference and knowledge sharing.
  8. Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing of website and app updates to ensure compatibility, functionality, and usability across various devices and browsers.


Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  2. Experience - 2-5 Years in web application development
  3. Proven experience in hosting services, web infrastructure, cloud services like AWS, and integration of payment & email gateways, 3rd party ecommerce platforms, CRM tools and others.
  4. Proven experience in website management, with proficiency in coding languages such as HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, and relevant frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue), and publishing platforms like Wordpress.
  5. Strong understanding of web and mobile app development methodologies, including responsive design principles and cross-platform compatibility.
  6. Demonstrated ability to identify and troubleshoot technical issues, with expertise in bug fixing and debugging techniques.
  7. Experience with content management systems (CMS) and mobile app development platforms (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, Android Studio, Xcode) preferred.
  8. Knowledge of web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and SEO principles.
  9. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  10. Proactive problem-solving mindset and keen attention to detail.
  11. Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and protocols is a plus.
