Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Solar Designer. The Solar Designer is responsible for the design and development of solar power systems. Day-to-day tasks include creating detailed solar system designs, conducting site assessments, preparing project documentation, and collaborating with engineering and construction teams. The Solar Designer will ensure designs meet regulatory requirements and project specifications while optimizing system performance and cost-efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Experience in solar system design, including creating detailed layouts and schematics
  • Proficiency in using software tools for solar design and analysis (e.g., AutoCAD, PVsyst)
  • Strong understanding of electrical and structural engineering principles relevant to solar PV systems
  • Ability to conduct site assessments and analyze site-specific data
  • Knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, NABCEP)
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field
  • Experience in project management or working within an EPC framework is a plus
  • Certification in solar design or engineering (e.g., NABCEP) is advantageous
