Responsibilities:

  • Apply precise pharmaceutical coding to medications, prescriptions, and services, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
  • Review medical documentation thoroughly for accurate pharmaceutical data in alignment with coding guidelines.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and pharmacists to clarify medication information and resolve coding discrepancies.
  • Stay current on pharmaceutical coding regulations, guidelines, and trends to ensure compliance and optimize processes.
  • Engage in ongoing training and development to enhance coding skills and proficiency with coding software and tools.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and best practices for pharmaceutical coding.
  • Work closely with billing and compliance teams to resolve coding issues and improve revenue cycle management.
  • Act as a resource for internal and external stakeholders on pharmaceutical coding inquiries and disputes.
  • Cultivate a positive, collaborative work environment that fosters teamwork, professionalism, and continuous learning.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Pharmacy, or related field.
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification required; additional Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred.
  • Extensive pharmaceutical coding experience in medical facilities, with expertise in pharmacy law and medical terminology.
  • Proficient in pharmacy systems and software for patient and drug data retrieval, prescription processing, and accurate coding.
  • Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and multitasking skills; adept at independent work and meeting deadlines.
