Position Overview:

The Placement Officer at EASA College of Engineering and Technology plays a pivotal role in fostering strong industry partnerships, facilitating student placements, and enhancing the employability of students. Reporting to the Director of Training and Placement, the Placement Officer will lead efforts to connect students with job opportunities, coordinate placement activities, and provide career guidance and support.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Industry Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with corporate recruiters, industry professionals, and employers to understand their hiring needs, preferences, and recruitment processes. Act as a liaison between the college and industry partners to facilitate campus recruitment drives, internship programs, and industry collaborations.
  • Placement Coordination: Plan, organize, and execute placement activities such as on-campus interviews, job fairs, career workshops, and networking events. Coordinate logistics, scheduling, and communication with recruiters, students, and faculty members to ensure smooth conduct of placement-related activities.
  • Student Counseling: Provide individualized career counseling, guidance, and mentorship to students to help them explore career options, identify their strengths, and develop career plans. Assist students in resume writing, interview preparation, and job search strategies to enhance their employability and job readiness.
  • Employer Outreach: Identify potential employers, job opportunities, and internship prospects for students across various industries and sectors. Proactively engage with employers to promote student profiles, share campus placement brochures, and facilitate employer presentations and company visits.
  • Placement Support Services: Offer placement support services such as resume review, mock interviews, and assessment centers to prepare students for the recruitment process. Collaborate with faculty members, alumni, and industry experts to conduct skill development workshops, industry-specific training programs, and career guidance sessions.
  • Placement Data Management: Maintain accurate records of student placements, internship placements, and recruitment outcomes. Update the placement database, track placement statistics, and generate placement reports to monitor and evaluate placement performance and trends.
  • Professional Development: Stay abreast of industry trends, job market dynamics, and recruitment practices to provide up-to-date information and guidance to students and faculty members. Participate in professional development activities, conferences, and networking events to enhance knowledge and skills in career services and placement management.


Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. (B.E. with M.B.A. preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in placement, recruitment, or career services, preferably in the engineering college .
  • Strong networking skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with employers, recruiters, and industry professionals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using recruitment platforms, applicant tracking systems, and online job portals.
  • Knowledge of career counseling techniques, job search strategies, and employer engagement practices.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze placement data, track metrics, and generate reports to support decision-making.
  • Commitment to student success, career development, and continuous improvement in placement services.
