Role & responsibilities

1. Network Management & Design

  • Design, implement, and maintain LAN, WAN, VPNs, and wireless networks.
  • Install, configure, and manage network hardware (firewalls, switches, routers).
  • Monitor network performance and analyze traffic for bottlenecks and vulnerabilities.
  • Troubleshoot network-related issues to ensure high availability and minimal downtime.
  • Review and optimize existing infrastructure based on best practices.

2. Security Administration

  • Develop and enforce IT security policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus, endpoint protection, and SIEM tools.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
  • Implement role-based access control and secure authentication mechanisms.
  • Monitor systems for potential threats and respond to security incidents.

3. Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and mentor a team of network/security engineers or administrators.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to support projects and operations.
  • Plan and implement upgrades or improvements to the infrastructure.
  • Manage full security incident response lifecycledetection, analysis, mitigation, and reporting.

4. Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure IT compliance with industry regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, RBI guidelines, etc.).
  • Maintain detailed documentation for network architecture, policies, and incident logs.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

5. Technical Support & Troubleshooting

  • Act as a subject matter expert for network and security-related issues.
  • Provide hands-on support and technical guidance to internal users and teams.
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve critical security/network failures.

6. Emerging Technologies & Innovation

  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, threats, tools, and frameworks.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging network and security solutions (including Cloud Security – Azure).
  • Continuously improve security posture through new tools and processes.
