Procurement Manager – Hotel Supplies BuyerAbout the Role:HMI Hotel Group, a leading, well-established Japanese hotel chain is looking for a highly skilledHotel Supplies Buyerto join their team as aProcurement Manager . The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and purchasing a wide range of hotel supplies and services, ensuring the highest standards of quality and cost-efficiency. This role will involve working closely with internal teams, international suppliers, and managing logistics for overseas shipments. TheProcurement Managerwill play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of hotel facilities by securing quality supplies and maintaining inventory across multiple categories. The candidate shall periodically travel to Japan for meetings with the Head Office and visit hotel sites.Key Responsibilities:1.Procurement of Operating Supplies and Equipment : oOversee the purchasing of essential operating supplies and equipment for the hotel, including furniture, appliances, and technology. oEnsure that all products meet the company’s standards for durability, functionality, and aesthetics. oWork closely with hotel management to understand specific needs and timelines for each property. 2.Procurement of Linen Supplies : oManage the procurement of high-quality linens, including bed linens, towels, and other fabric-based hotel supplies. oEnsure all linens meet required standards for comfort, durability, and hygiene. oNegotiate with suppliers to maintain quality while managing costs. 3.Procurement of Bed Mattresses, Furniture, Curtains, and Quilts : oResponsible for the purchase of comfortable, high-quality mattresses, furniture, curtains, and quilts, ensuring that these items provide guests with an exceptional experience. oCollaborate with designers and hotel managers to ensure that the aesthetic and functional requirements of the hotel are met. oManage vendor relationships and product selection to ensure competitive pricing and optimal quality. 4.Procurement of Food and Beverage Supplies : oSource and manage the procurement of all food and beverage supplies for hotel operations, ensuring a consistent and high standard of quality. oWork closely with culinary teams to understand menu needs, dietary requirements, and quality preferences. oNegotiate with suppliers for pricing, delivery schedules, and special requests, while maintaining cost-efficiency. 5.Procurement of Room Amenities : oHandle the procurement of a wide range of room amenities, such as toiletries, guestroom supplies, and other service items. oEnsure all products align with brand standards and provide a premium guest experience. oRegularly evaluate and source new products to enhance the guest experience.Qualifications, Skills and Experience:1.Extensive Experience in Procurement :oMinimum of5 to 10 years of experienceas a senior Buyer, with a reputed Global Chain Hotel, with a proven track record of managing the procurement process across multiple product categories. The more the experience, higher is the chance of success. oHands-on experience in sourcing products for large hotel chains or luxury properties is highly desirable.2.Academic Qualifications:Atleast a3 Years Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Accounting, Hotel Managementor related major.3.Quality Analysis and Cost Management :oStrong background in conductingquality analysisof goods and services to ensure that purchased items meet the required standards and specifications. oSkilled inpricing strategies , cost analysis, and negotiations to ensure the best value for money while maintaining product quality.4.Overseas Cargo Shipment Management :oIn-depth knowledge ofinternational logistics , including the management of overseas cargo shipments and related procedures. oExperience in coordinating international freight, customs clearance, and managing shipping timelines to ensure timely delivery.5.Supplier Relationship Management :oProven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers. oAbility to manage supplier performance and conduct regular evaluations to ensure service standards are met.Additional Information: Location : The candidate shall be stationed in Mumbai, India as Procurement Manager and will undertake periodic travels to Japan Head Office and Hotel Sites to collaborate with teams and suppliers. The successful candidate will need to demonstratestrong communication skills , both in English and in understanding Japanese business practices, as the role involves working closely with Japanese stakeholders.What We Offer: An opportunity to be part of a prestigious global hotel chain.
