Engineering Manager II

Job Description

1.In consultation with the management team, sets the direction and strategy of the competency layer-aligning to the business goals.

2.Manages capabilities of the department; to develop and maintain a long-term view on the required competences and knowledge to introduce new technology

3.Resource assignment and prioritization including headcount and base cost budget.

4.Accountable for the technology and architecture in the department, drives compliance/closure of Product, Architecture Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving design outputs or program deliverables

5.Is a member of the Development Management Team and determines, in consultation with the Management Team, the department’s objectives, policies, processes and budgets on short and long term, makes sure that the organization can meet the objectives and ensures that the roles and responsibilities are put in place.

6.Ensures appropriate functional leadership including recruitment, adequate staffing, remuneration, performance appraisals, education and training, and management of development policy.

7.Ensures an engaged, innovative, and inspiring working environment in the department by motivating, challenging, and coaching the department 's employees towards growth, manages and optimizes innovation in the team.

8.Is co-responsible for achieving operational plans, works with R&D PMO/Project Managers/Leaders and ensures the optimal allocation of personnel to the projects and effective project management within departments through identified execution roles, ensure excellent project execution by constantly optimizing project management practices in the department and along with the PMO, to exceed customer expectations.

9.Cross collaboration with BU’s and functions outside the departments, towards technological developments, deliverables, identifying trends and opportunities.

10.Drives continuous improvement activities by initiating the implementation of process and product quality improvement initiatives, champions adoption of Agile-Safe/Lean methodologies of software development.
