Senior SQL Server Database Administrator – Azure

Experience Level:Senior (Minimum 10 years of professional experience)Job Summary:We are looking for an experiencedSenior SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA)with strong expertise inAzure SQL ServerandAzure SQL Subscriptionmanagement. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing, securing, optimizing, and migrating SQL Server environments, both on-premises and in the Azure cloud. This is a fully remote opportunity for professionals located in India or Argentina.Key Responsibilities:Manage and administerSQL Server databases(on-premises and Azure SQL).Plan, implement, and overseeAzure SQL Subscriptionservices, ensuring high availability and cost-efficiency.Performdatabase performance tuning , query optimization, indexing, and monitoring.Configure and maintaindisaster recovery ,backups , andhigh availabilitysolutions (Always On, Geo-Replication, etc.).Implement and monitorsecurity policies , access controls, and compliance standards.Plan and executedatabase migrationsfrom on-premises SQL Server toAzure SQL .Work with development and DevOps teams to support CI/CD and database lifecycle management.Monitor and troubleshoot production issues and proactively address database health and capacity concerns.Develop and maintaindocumentation , runbooks, and best practices.Required Qualifications:Minimum10 years of experienceas a SQL Server DBA.Minimum3 years of hands-on experiencewithAzure SQL ServerandAzure SQL Subscriptionmanagement.Strong experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting database issues.Deep knowledge ofT-SQL ,backup/recovery ,replication ,indexing , andsecurity configurations .Proven experience withmigration projectsfrom on-premises SQL Server to Azure.Familiarity with Azure services likeAzure Monitor ,Azure Security Center , andAzure Automation .Understanding of licensing and cost management for Azure SQL resources.Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.Preferred Qualifications:Microsoft Certified:Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent certification.Experience withPowerShell scriptingfor automation.Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools and CI/CD pipelines related to database deployments.Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments.
