Overview :
We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our team, specializing in API documentation. As a Technical Writer, you will play a crucial role in translating complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation.
Your primary focus will be on creating developer getting started guides, knowledge base articles, and various other documentation to support our developer community.
Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and technical support to understand API functionalities and features.
- Create clear and accurate developer guides, API reference documentation, and tutorials to facilitate seamless integration and usage of our APIs.
- Research, gather, and organize technical information from engineering teams to ensure accuracy and relevance in documentation.
- Update and maintain existing documentation to reflect software updates, new features, and improvements.
- Work closely with UX/UI designers to ensure documentation aligns with product user interfaces and experiences.
- Participate in product testing and experimentation to gain firsthand knowledge for documentation purposes.
Requirements :
- Proven experience as a Technical Writer or similar role with a strong portfolio of API documentation samples.
- Solid understanding of API schemas, RESTful APIs, JSON, and other related technologies.
- Ability to comprehend complex technical concepts and communicate them effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in using documentation tools and platforms such as Markdown, Swagger, or similar.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field preferred.
Preferred Skills :
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.
- Familiarity with API testing tools and techniques.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to changing environments
