We at Rocket Software are looking for Software Engineer III (Mainframe Assembler, HLASM) role.Job Overview:The Software Engineer-III designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs software programs for software enhancements and new products. Develops software tools including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools. Determines software’s compatibility with hardware and/or influences software's design in relation to hardware.Required Qualifications- 7+ years of professional experience in z/OS systems programming, security, or product engineering.- Strong proficiency in IBM Assembler and REXX.- Deep understanding of z/OS internals (APF, SVC, PC, cross-memory services, control blocks).- Demonstrated expertise in system dump reading and analysis.- Exposure to RACF, ACF2, and Top Secret—with working knowledge of security profiles, rules, and access controls.- Solid debugging and problem-solving skills in complex mainframe environments.- Ability to work independently at a mid-senior level, while collaborating closely with global, cross-functional teams.Preferred Qualifications- Experience with project management tools like Jira- Prior contribution to security-focused mainframe tools or utilities.- Excellent communication skills for working with distributed engineering teams and enterprise customers.Education:Bachelors / master's degree in computer science or equivalentLocation:PuneRocket Software Inc. is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
