Job Title: Sales Manager - Consulting Services - CSR/NGO
Reports To: CEO
Location: Pune (50-75% travel monthly)
About Urdhvam:
Urdhvam Environmental Technologies Pvt Ltd, which is based out of Pune. Using IT, IoT, Robotics and Technology as enabler we develop innovative, affordable and scalable products that would revive fast depleting groundwater resources in India, thereby provide safe and sustainable water for drinking, domestic and irrigation needs of farmers and make villages/habitations sustainable for future generations. We work on water and groundwater issues in Water domains.
We have recently launched a unique, innovative and patented tool, BoreCharger ( that increases the yield of failed or low yielding borewells. We would like to work with you and promote BoreCharger in your work areas and also explore possibilities of collaboration for groundwater security. About the Role:
The Sales Manager - Consulting Services will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth for Urdhvam's water-related consulting services. This individual will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities across a diverse range of sectors including NGOs, CSRs, Foundations, government, industrial, agricultural, real estate/construction, etc.

- Ground Water Management
- Aquifer Mapping
- Groundwater Prospecting
- Hydrogeological Assessment
- Geological & Geophysical Mapping
- Water Budgeting And Auditing
- Watershed Treatment & Management
- Rain Water Harvesting
- Surface Water Management
- Central Groundwater Authority (CGWA) Compliance
- Groundwater Pollution Plume Analysis
- Environmental Impact Assessment (Water & Groundwater)
- Training of Villagers, NGOs, CSRs, Government Staff, etc. in Simplified and Gamified way in Marathi, Hindi and English
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales:
- Identify, research, and qualify potential clients within target markets.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at prospective clients.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify new opportunities and trends.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals effectively.
- Attend industry events, conferences, and networking functions.
- Develop professional networks with NGOs, CSRs, Foundations, Environmental Consultants, etc.
Service Delivery:
- Collaborate with technical experts to understand service offerings and develop customized solutions for client needs.
- Ensure smooth project handover to the project management team.
- Monitor project progress and client satisfaction.
- Account Management: Address client concerns and resolve issues promptly.
Market Intelligence:
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and competitor activities.
- Gather market intelligence and feedback to inform sales and product development strategies.
Team Management:
- Lead and mentor junior sales professionals and cross-functional team members.
- Set performance goals and provide regular feedback.
- Foster a positive and high-performing sales culture.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science/Water Management/Hydrogeology/Business Administration/Civil Engineering/Mechanical Engineering.
- 7 to 8+ years of proven sales experience in the environmental consulting industry, with a strong focus on water-related services.
- In-depth knowledge of the CSRs, Foundations, NGOs, water sector, including groundwater management, India's hydrology, water resources, water quality, environmental regulations, watershed design & implementations, CSR-NGOs-Social Development Sector
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to creatively develop proposals in discussion with the Technical Team and develop costs, schedules, pricing, etc.
- Proven ability to build and maintain networks and long-term client relationships.
Desired Skills:
- Good understanding of CSRs, NGOs, Foundations and their style of working
- Experience in LFA, project management and proposal writing.
- Understanding of environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent Written and Verbal communication skills in English and multiple local Indian languages
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
