ChennaiJob PurposeThe Assistant Manager - Vendor Development is responsible to develop vendors ensuring adequate supply of components for existing/New products as per design changes, / capacity enhancements/ replacements within the cost, quantity and quality targets. The incumbent will lead the team and monitor vendor management, vendor payment processing and vendor performance evaluation.

Key Responsibilities :-Collaborate with various teams to understand product requirements and parts specificationsIdentify potential suppliers and send RFQ to them based on part design and bill of materials received from current engineering teamLiaise with vendors/ suppliers on a regular basis for sourcing of components and partsGauge capability of suppliers by conducting design for manufacturing (DFM) discussions with suppliersCollaborate with cross-functional teams to identify modifications/ changes required and work towards reducing rejection rates of incoming partsReview order status and ensure adherence to Direct on line targets and business plan targets/vehicleCalculate target costing for components in collaboration with the Cost Management team and ensure that proposed suppliers meet the target bandEvaluate performance and propose suppliers based on suitable evaluation in collaboration with the Quality Assurance teamProvide technical guidance (mechanical and engineering feedback) to shortlisted suppliers in order to meet component reliability, supply chain efficiency and overall cost reductionSupervise supplier quality engineers responsible for component release; conduct component inspection auditsResolve quality issues and monitor corrective procedures as per guidelines specified by quality assuranceEnsure completion of the Product Part Approval process in collaboration with Current Engineering and Quality assurance teamEnsure a smooth handover to procurement team for sourcing material for start of production runs

(HV & LV), Connectors, Relays, Contractors, Fuse Box):-Should have experience in development of HV, LV Wiring harnessExperience in Connectors, Contactors, Couplers, Fuses, Relays : Supplier knowledge, interchangeability understandingShould have experience in EV Parts Sourcing, Vendor Development, Costing, Negotiation and Price SettlementShould have the exposure in Cost estimation for the HV / LV Wiring harnessE- Component , connectors & contactors knowledgeShould have the knowledge on Supplier base on EV componentsAwareness of Market Trends, Domestic & Global gov’t policies, Impact analysis, Competitive Benchmark data, Market IntelligenceAwareness on Automotive standards / Testing related to Wiring HarnessWorking knowledge of manufacturing and system processes (PPAP, APQP)SAP MM & PLM user experience

Work ExperienceB.E. / B.
