About the role
We are extremely excited to announce that we are inviting applications for a Cloud and Server Ops Specialist to be based in our Hyderabad office with a hybrid working setup.The Cloud and Server Ops Specialist is responsible for maintaining the operation and control of all implemented server, storage, and backup infrastructure at Orica.This involves working with a team of Infrastructure Operations Specialists to maximise server performance and optimise storage capacity in compliance with the Service Level Agreements.
What you will be doing
Leadership and DirectionDefine, maintain, and promote server and storage standards and procedures and ensure alignment with Orica’s IT strategy and business objectivesConduct detailed planning of all server and storage activities.Maintain a high standard of service and support by ensuring compliance of IT policies and procedures and where required creating and updating those policies and proceduresServer and Storage ManagementManage the day-to-day planning, configuration and tuning of server and storage activitiesEnsure regular high-performance, scalable backups and restores are performed on a schedule and offsite storage is trackedManage the troubleshooting, repair and replacement of procedures for server and storage solutionsEnsure effective monitoring and alerting systems are in place for server and storage infrastructure to ensure a proactive response to potential incidentsEnsure software and security compliance of server & storage operating systems & infrastructure through appropriate lifecycle managementEngage service providers as necessary to ensure the provision of a robust and cost-effective service.Reporting and GovernanceReview capacity, performance, availability, and other operational metrics and take appropriate action to ensure corrective and proactive maintenance of server, storage and backup systems to support the requirement to protect business informationImplement and monitor server and storage control processes and ensure that procedures comply with regulatory requirements, security requirements and Orica’s policies and standardsPerform timely and regular reporting on the status of server and storage activities and any escalated potential risks/issues to the Infrastructure Operations Manager
What you will bring
Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or Business, or comparable industry experience.8 years' experience in a System Admin, Server, Storage, and Backup infrastructure operations and engineering support roles or similar focusing on Hybrid/Multi-cloud infrastructure.5 years demonstrated experience in performing engineering responsibilities for Google Cloud Platform (Experience in other Hyperscaler cloud platform like Azure and AWS is a plus).Experience building scalable automation via Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) or anything equivalent using any of the following tools (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or any cloud management platforms).Experience in managing and remediating IT Security related vulnerability findings.Experience with Windows and Linux OS build, configuration, management, and automation.Experience with any scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell, bash, CMD, python, json, yaml, etc…).Experience with any monitoring tools like ServiceNow ACC, Solarwinds, LogicMonitor, SCOM, Nagios, VMware Tanzu Observability, and the likes.Knowledge in basic network concepts such as IP subnetting, ACLs, and routing.
