One of your clients - A global BPO organization is looking for a Senior Vice President Collection Operations - Bengaluru or Mumbai or Chennai locations. Candidate should be ready to relocate to either one of these locations.


The Senior Vice President of Collection Operations is a high-level executive responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's collection function. This critical role ensures efficient and compliant recovery of past-due accounts, while minimizing financial losses and maintaining positive customer relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic collection plans that optimize recovery rates while adhering to industry regulations and company policies.
  • Oversee the entire collection process, including skip tracing, account analysis, and communication with debtors.
  • Manage a team of collection professionals, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluation.
  • Set performance goals and budgets for the collection department, and track progress towards achieving them.
  • Analyze collection data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas of potential risk.
  • Develop and implement new collection strategies and technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state laws governing debt collection practices (e.g., Fair Debt Collection Practices Act).
  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including legal counsel, regulators, and external collection agencies (if applicable).
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in collections, and implement them within the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum 18+ years of experience in collections management, with a proven track record of success in increasing recovery rates.
  • Strong understanding of fair debt collection laws and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Data analysis skills and experience using collection software.

Additional Desired Skills:

  • Experience in a specific industry relevant to the company's business (e.g., healthcare, banking, etc.).
  • Six Sigma or Lean process improvement experience.
  • Strong understanding of financial metrics and reporting.
