We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Associate / Senior Associate Corporate Accounting to join our Operations team in Mumbai. The role involves preparing, reviewing, and ensuring timely delivery of financial and regulatory reporting, maintaining compliance, and implementing process improvements. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a global environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all internal/external service levels and regulatory deadlines within the Corporate Accounting team are met.
  • Plan, organize, and allocate resources to meet client engagement requirements.
  • Draft and implement accounting procedures in line with professional standards.
  • Review management accounts and ensure accuracy before issuance.
  • Deliver timely and accurate monthly/quarterly management and statutory financial information.
  • Provide financial information to clients and customers.
  • File Corporation Tax, VAT returns, and other statutory obligations within strict deadlines.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports.
  • Implement improvements in accounting processes to strengthen controls and efficiency.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues across the global Waystone Group.
  • Assist in designing and implementing internal operating procedures & controls while ensuring compliance.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes impacting Corporate Accounting processes.
  • Identify and escalate instances of non-compliance to senior management and compliance teams.
  • Prepare and present MIS reports for internal oversight meetings.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain professional competence through continuous learning and development.

Requirements

Desirable Skills & Knowledge

  • Prior experience in Accounting and Finance.
  • Fair understanding of capital markets (Equity, Bonds, Derivatives, etc.).

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accountancy.
  • Professional qualifications such as CA, CPA, CFA, or CAIA.
  • Partly or fully qualified ACA/ACCA (or similar qualifications) will be an added advantage.
