Overview : We are seeking a highly experienced Software Asset Management (SAM) Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in asset lifecycle management, with certifications such as Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM), CIS - Software Asset Management, and Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM). This role involves managing software asset processes, performing reconciliation, and delivering effective license positions for major software publishers including IBM and Oracle.
Key Responsibilities :
- Reconciliation : Execute reconciliation processes by comparing software entitlements with discovered installations to determine effective license positions (ELP) for each in-scope publisher.
- Analysis & Reporting : Analyze reconciliation reports to identify and address non-compliant software installations. Establish removal rules for infrequently used software based on usage reports.
- License Positioning : Deliver accurate effective license positions for software publishers, including but not limited to IBM and Oracle products.
- Process Management : Oversee the day-to-day activities of the software asset management process, ensuring smooth operations and compliance.
- Relationship Management : Manage key relationships with peer roles and stakeholders to facilitate effective asset management practices.
- Database Maintenance : Develop and maintain a comprehensive database to track the status of software applications related to entitlements, rights, renewals, true-ups, and reclamations.
- Contract Understanding : Demonstrate a thorough understanding of software contracts and their relationship with software entitlements.
Required Qualifications :
- Certifications : Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM), CIS - Software Asset Management, and Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM).
- Experience : 5-7 years of experience in software asset management, with a proven track record in reconciliation, reporting, and database management.
- Technical Skills : Strong knowledge of asset lifecycle management and experience with major software publishers like IBM and Oracle.
- Analytical Skills : Ability to analyze complex reconciliation reports and establish effective rules for software management.
- Database Management : Experience in maintaining accurate databases for tracking software entitlements, renewals, and other key aspects.
- Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage relationships with peers and stakeholders effectively.
- Attention to Detail : High level of attention to detail in managing software assets and ensuring compliance.
Preferred Skills :
- Experience with additional software asset management tools and technologies.
- Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in software asset management.
