Essential: Matric orequivalent Senior Certificate.
Degree in logisticssupply chain management Fleet or transport management
Valid driver’s licence
Essential: 5 Yearsrelevant experience as a Fleet Manager with provenhistory
Knowledge of fleet servicing fleet schedulingfleet analysis and operations
4. OVERVIEW
Oversee andmanage the company’s fleet of vehicles. Coordinatevehicle maintenance optimizing routes ensure compliance withregulations. Monitors fuel consumption tracks vehicle performanceand implement costeffective strategies.
5. ROLES &RESPONSIBILITIES
Fleet Operations
•Oversee the daytoday operations of thecompany’s vehicle fleet.
•Ensuretimely and efficient vehicle maintenance repairs andinspections.
•Optimise routes for costeffectiveness and timely deliveries.
•Issuefleet cards received from Nedbank to stores andindividuals.
•Ensure service reminders areissued to all vehicle users.
•Management ofemployee vehicle use agreements.
•Management ofdaily vehicle inspection reports
Regulatory Compliance
• Ensure compliance with local and national regulationsgoverning fleet operations.
• Keep abreast ofchanges in legislation related to transportation and fleetmanagement.
• Ensure vehicle licences arerenewed timeously and distribute renewed licences to correctlocation(s).
Traffickfines:
• Transfer fines todriver’s name if fines are because of driver’snegligence.
• Ensure all fines are paid ortransferred to driver’s name.
•Regular checkups on websites for outstanding violations and managesuch matters.
• Prepare and submit contractsdisposing of vehicles and ensure vehicles are removed fromcompany
records and licencing authority.
• Ensure all employees operating company vehicles has therequired/valid driver’s licence for vehicle
they are operating.
RecordKeeping
• Maintain records ofall vehicle services and tyre replacements
•Detect any anomalies and unusual expenditure.
•Verify fleet card records against any unauthorised expenditure orexcessive costs.
• Check and analyse monthlyfleet reports.
• Maintain vehicle inspectionrecords and drivers’ licences for all vehicles andemployees operating
companyvehicles.
• Maintain a file foreach company vehicle.
• Maintain servicerecords for all company vehicles.
TeamLeadership
• Lead motivate andmanage team of drivers mechanics and administrativestaff.
• Conduct regular training session fordrivers on safety and compliance.
CostManagement
• Develop and managebudgets for fuel maintenance and overall fleetoperations.
• Implement costsaving measureswithout compromising safety and efficiency.
Safety and Risk Management
• Implement and Enforce safety policies and procedures tominimise accidents and injuries.
• Develop andimplement risk management strategies for fleet.
• Investigate any matters of concern.
Technology Integration
• Utilize fleet management software for realtime trackingreporting and analysis.
• Stay updated onadvancements in technology to enhance fleet efficiency.
Communication
•Maintain open communication channels with drivers mechanics andother relevant stakeholders.
• Address andresolve issues promptly to ensure smooth operations.
Performance Monitoring
• Establish key performance indications (KPI’s)and regularly monitor fleet performance.
•Implement improvements based on data analysis to optimise fleetoperations.
• Ensure all company vehicle userssign and acknowledge “Use of a Company VehiclePolicy.”
VendorRelations
• Manage relationshipswith suppliers maintenance service providers and other relevantvendors.
• Negotiate contracts an agreement toensure costeffective services.
• Authorisequotes for tyre replacements servicing and repairs and consult withthe bank and vehicle
user.
• Obtaincomparative quotations for new fleet vehicles.
• Prepare and submit insurance claims for accidents.Repairs etc. before 30 days has lapsed after
accident.
