Key Responsibilities :

• Responsible for designing and developing drivetrain architectures(constant mesh-{single stage, double stage, epicyclic}, synchronous mesh gearbox, CVTs, chain sprockets, belt drives) for 2-wheeler platforms.
• Responsible for meeting durability, efficiency, and NVH attributes of drivetrain architectures.
• Responsible for generating layouts by performing 1-D or 3-D meshed models in software tools like Romax Energy/Romax Spectrum/Romax Enduro by taking care of durability, efficiency, and NVH attributes.
• Performing Macro and Micro geometry optimization in tools like Kissoft/Romax.
• Perform Oil flow simulations by giving requirements to the CAE team.
• Perform bearing, shaft, and spline calculations.
• Design of gearbox housings that meet DFX, durability, and stiffness requirements.
• Perform GD&T stack-up for GearBox assembly as a unit.
• Able to convert Level-0 requirements of the product to Level-1 and Level-2 requirements of Drivetrain architectures.
• Perform sizing of sprockets and chain or belt drives for durability and noise levels.
• Define accelerated testing methodologies/cycles for the durability of drivetrain assemblies.
• Define reliability targets/attributes for drivetrain architectures.
• Define service intervals and end of Line test setup for drivetrain architectures.

Ideal Candidate :

• 8+ years of experience in drivetrain architectures- product life cycle.
• Experience in conducting design releases with defined documentation in PLM tools.
• Should have deployed at least 2 architectures in the field.
• Should be able to nurture young talent and deliver the best out of the team.
• Experience in Gear Hobb and Dresser requirements.
• Experience in Heat Treatment process to achieve required case and depth hardness of gears and shafts.
• Experience with pressure die castings and forgings manufacturing process.
• Experience with machining procedures for achieving tighter tolerance bands for gearbox housings.
