SAP Real Estate (FI) Consultant

Position Overview: An SAP Real Estate (FI) Consultant is responsible for implementing, configuring, and optimizing SAP Real Estate (Flexible Real Estate Management or RE-FX) solutions, with a focus on integrating financial (FI) modules to support real estate management processes. The consultant works closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and ensure seamless financial operations related to real estate management within SAP systems.
Key Responsibilities:
SAP RE-FX Implementation and Configuration:
Lead or support the full lifecycle implementation of SAP Real Estate (RE-FX) modules, including gathering requirements, design, configuration, testing, and go-live support.
Configure SAP RE-FX functionalities to meet client needs, such as lease contracts, real estate accounting, property management, and financial integration.
Financial Integration (FI):
Ensure smooth integration between SAP RE-FX and SAP FI modules, covering areas like Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), and Asset Accounting.
Implement processes for lease accounting, rent management, asset depreciation, and financial reporting in compliance with IFRS 16 and other relevant accounting standards.
Business Process Analysis:
Analyze current business processes related to real estate management and propose optimized SAP solutions.
Work with stakeholders to align SAP RE-FX functionalities with their strategic goals in real estate management, finance, and leasing.
System Customization and Enhancement:
Customize SAP RE-FX to support unique client requirements, including custom reports, forms, and interfaces with other systems.
Support enhancements and integration of other modules such as Controlling (CO), Project System (PS), and Investment Management (IM) as required for real estate processes.
User Training and Support:
Develop training materials and conduct end-user training sessions for SAP RE-FX processes and related financial transactions.
Provide ongoing support to users, troubleshooting issues and delivering solutions for system improvements.
Data Migration and Validation:
Assist in the migration of data related to real estate assets, contracts, and financial transactions into the SAP system.
Ensure data accuracy and perform validation checks post-migration.
Documentation and Compliance:
Prepare detailed project documentation, including functional specifications, system configurations, and test scripts.
Ensure compliance with legal and accounting regulations, including IFRS 16, ASC 842, or local standards for real estate and lease management.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, IT, and real estate departments, to ensure the SAP RE-FX module aligns with business needs.
Act as the main point of contact for SAP RE-FX-related queries and system improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience: 3-5+ years of experience working as an SAP Consultant with a focus on SAP Real Estate (RE-FX) and FI modules.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in SAP RE-FX (Flexible Real Estate Management) and integration with Financial modules (FI).
Strong understanding of financial processes related to real estate, lease management, IFRS 16/ASC 842 accounting standards.
Knowledge of SAP configuration, customizations, and integration with other SAP modules (CO, AM, MM, etc.).
Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills, ability to communicate complex information clearly, project management skills, and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in SAP RE-FX or FI/CO.
Experience with S/4HANA.
Exposure to other SAP modules related to real estate and financial management such as SAP PM (Plant Maintenance) or SAP MM (Materials Management).
