Job Summary

As a Business Strategy Senior Specialist, you play a critical role in shaping the future of the business by contributing to Telstra's long-term strategy, planning, and its execution. You apply your exceptional analytical and communication skills to solve complex business problems, including facilitating decision making around strategic priorities. Summary:

This role sits under India Strategy & Operations function under India Country Management and is an enabling role to the success of key transformation programs and operational improvements within Telstra India Operations. Working at a senior level within India Country Management function, this role would provide business, commercial, strategic and operational support required for decision making and running seamless India operations across its various sites.

As a Senior Business Strategy Specialist

Primary Accountabilities:

  • Design and delivery of key strategic initiatives across India
  • Stakeholder management:
  • Work with global business units and corporate functions spread across eastern (APAC & ANZ) time-zones to drive desired business outcomes for ICC/ India
  • Support Lines of Business (LOBs) strengthen their capabilities and work with them to identify growth opportunities
  • Implement strong Program/ Project Management rigor in every project/ initiative
  • Transitions management: enable smooth transitions for BU/ LOBs moving into the respective ICC/ location. Drive capacity management for the site against future demand
  • Drive external partnerships i.e. industry bodies and academia connects
  • Actively contribute to enable hybrid ways of working
  • Analyse data and generate useful insights for decision making
  • Commercial management – budgeting, tracking of actuals vs. budget
  • Drive Governance and reporting, BCP and resiliency plans
  • Drive operational improvements through technology interventions

Key Skills:

  • 12+ years of relevant/ total experience; strategic program management/ business operations/ change mgmt./ consulting experience preferred
  • Ability to conceptualize and craft strategies, create roadmaps
  • Stakeholder management and influencing skills – the ability to understand and map stakeholder interests, maintain a consistent and regularized communication strategy at a senior level
  • Ability to analyse data and create insights (hands on with MS office suite of products; exposure to tools like PowerBI, Tableu etc. would be good)
  • Experience in Project Management & Risk Framework; Exposure into PM tools like Clarity, JIRA (Agile PM); exposure into PowerApps is a plus
  • Patience and perseverance to offer solutions repeatedly
  • Be a Change agent
  • Operational excellence/ strong individual contributor (self-driven)
  • Be able to deal with ambiguity – giving structure to an unstructured environment
  • Experience of working in a matrix organization
