Profile

Job Description :

A Category Manager plays a crucial role in ecommerce companies by overseeing the strategic management and optimization of product categories. This position requires a deep understanding of consumer behavior, market trends, and competitive landscape to drive revenue growth and enhance customer experience within assigned product categories. The Category Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams, including marketing, merchandising, operations, and supply chain, to achieve business objectives and maximize sales performance.

Experience : 5-10 years

Responsibilities :

Strategy

Develop and execute strategies to drive online sales growth, enhance customer experience, and improve conversion rates. Stay updated on ecommerce industry trends, and customer preferences to recommend innovative strategies and initiatives.

Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for differentiation and market positioning.

Customer profiling

Project and Performance Management

Monitor and analyze website traffic, sales data, and customer behavior to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

PNL + Business Piloting

Coordinate with IT teams to ensure smooth website functionality, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement enhancements. (To add Features)

People

Team Recruitment and Management

Teammate Skills and Career Development

Delegation and Decision Making

Performance Evaluation for Team

Stakeholder Management / Collaborations

Collaborate with Marketing Team to plan and implement effective online marketing campaigns, search engine optimization (SEO), and pay-per-click (PPC) advertising and an effective Commercial Communication Plan.

Work closely with Country Sport Teams to optimize the offer and develop the commercial policy to address customer/user needs and to develop and launch new products and promotions.

Work closely with the Country Customer Service Team to understand customer sentiments and address customer journey grievances.

Strategic - Market Share + Penetration, Ecommerce Share

Human - Team Happiness, Team development (Skills Matrix), Attrition Rate

Customer Centricity - Product Rating for the assortment cumulatively, Customer Retention%

Qualifications :

Master's degree is preferred

Outstanding communication and negotiation skills are essential

Demonstrated expertise in category management, preferably within the D2C or ecommerce sector

Proficient analytical skills, with a strong ability in data analysis and market research

Office Location : Decathlon Anubhava, Chikkajala, Bangalore
