Monday to Saturday, 10:30 AM – 6:30 PM

Role Overview

We are looking for a knowledgeable and well-connected
Solar Consultant
to drive our government-facing solar projects, policy engagement, and compliance efforts. The ideal candidate should have
extensive experience working with government departments
, understanding policy frameworks, managing documentation for tenders/subsidies, and navigating state/central regulations in the renewable energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all government-related solar project dealings
  • Prepare and submit tenders, DPRs (Detailed Project Reports), and related documentation
  • Build and maintain relationships with MNRE, SECI, DISCOMs, and State Nodal Agencies
  • Ensure compliance with government policies, certifications, and regulatory requirements
  • Provide strategic advice on policy updates, subsidies, and incentive schemes
  • Represent the company in government meetings, tenders, and industry consultations
  • Guide the technical and business teams on feasibility studies, approvals, and licensing
  • Track and apply for relevant grants or programs under central/state solar missions
  • Work with legal and project teams for MoUs, land acquisition, and PPAs
  • Identify new government opportunities, partnerships, and solar schemes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Public Policy, or related field
  • 5–10 years of experience
    in solar energy sector with focus on
    government relations
  • Deep knowledge of MNRE, SECI, state solar policies, and infrastructure laws
  • Experience in bidding for tenders (EPC/IPP/RESCO), subsidy programs, and project compliance
  • Strong documentation and liaisoning skills with public sector officials
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and deliver high-impact outcomes
  • Willingness to travel for site visits, government meetings, or fieldwork

Preferred

  • Prior experience working with or for a government agency, PSU, or consulting firm
  • Familiarity with agrovoltaics, rooftop/off-grid projects, and hybrid power systems
  • Experience handling PPA negotiations or interconnection approvals
