Role Overview:

The person will be responsible for managing and coordinating all import-related logistics activities for the company. This includes ensuring timely clearance of imported raw materials, components, and finished goods, coordinating with freight forwarders, customs authorities, and suppliers, and maintaining compliance with all import regulations. The role requires strong knowledge of import procedures, documentation, and international trade practices to support smooth and cost-effective supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage import shipments of raw materials, soles, fabrics, accessories, machinery, and finished footwear.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of import documentation (Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, COO, etc.).
  • Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and clearing agents to ensure timely clearance and delivery.
  • Monitor shipment schedules, track containers, and proactively resolve delays or discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations, DGFT norms, EXIM policies, and other government requirements.
  • Maintain import records, documentation, and MIS reports for audit and internal reviews.
  • Optimize import costs by negotiating with freight forwarders and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Purchase, Planning, and Quality teams to align import timelines with production schedules.
  • Handle duty payments, bond management, and other statutory compliance requirements.
  • Support vendor communication and coordinate for shipment readiness.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Graduate in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field
  • 3-6 years of experience in import logistics, preferably in manufacturing/FMCG/footwear industry.
  • Strong knowledge of import-export procedures, customs clearance, and DGFT regulations.
  • Familiarity with SAP/ERP systems and MS Excel for data management and reporting.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments and work under tight timelines.
