Design Engineer - Bearing Solutions

Employment Type: Full Time (6 days a week).

Location: Kanpur, India

We are designers and manufacturers of high precision Fluid Film Bearings for use in Turbines, Gearboxes, Compressors and other sophisticated rotating machinery.

We are looking for a Design Engineer to join our product engineering team. You will play a key role in conceptualizing and designing high-performance bearings, and optimizing them for performance and durability. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency with CAD/CAE tools, and a deep understanding of material selection and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop bearing components and assemblies for a wide range of applications.
  • Prepare 2D/3D CAD models, detailed engineering drawings, and specifications.
  • Perform design calculations (load, speed, lubrication etc.) to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Work with suppliers on material selection and heat treatment.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimise designs for production efficiency and quality.
  • Document design processes, maintain technical files, and contribute to design standards.
  • Engage in continuous improvement activities for product performance and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in design of precision mechanical components.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of tribology, metallurgy, and material science.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as forging, heat treatment and machining.

  • Knowledge of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • Ability to work with ERP systems.
  • Keen attention to detail, and strong problem solving ability.

Salary: 25-40k/month depending on qualifications, experience and skills.
