RESPONSIBILITIES

& MAIN TASKSGeneral tasks/ responsibilities.The IT Field Support Specialist has to work on four main areas: Support, Monitor,Troubleshoot, ReportUpdate documentation in the IT Operations SharePoint folders.Contribute to weekly or monthly reportsAdhere to Change Management and other policies.Maintaining the accuracy of the Offshore Assets inside the CMDB.Maintain skillset with trainings as needed to fulfill the responsibilities.Ensure that offshore systems are within support by maintaining proper lifecycleguidelines.Have familiarity with one or more of the following subjects in the IT competencymatrix:System (Compute)StorageCollaborationNetworkDaily tasks/responsibilitiesSystem tasks are stored in the ITSM, ServiceNowAll Systems Specialists must monitor the queue in their area of responsibility andmeet the departments SLA.View monitoring systems to keep awareness of any alerts and thresholds to ensuresystem stability, capacity requirements and availability for Citrix services.Weekly tasks/responsibilities.Monitor the stability of the Citrix environmentEnsure that offshore systems are properly patched and backed upEnsure that lifecycle management provides equipment is within manufacturersupport.Monthly or Quarterly tasks/responsibilities.Ensure that all systems are enrolled in the Patch Management System, theMonitoring System(s), the Backup System, and the CMDBWork with internal and external audits as needed to ensure compliance.JOB REQUIREMENTSSpecific skills / expertise / product:Minimum 5 years’ experience in System role (Senior or Lead Position)Must possess relevant systems’ certifications – Citrix Certified Professional or Expert– Virtualization and/or Citrix Certified Professional or Expert AppDSMandatory specialist experience in implementing and maintaining multi siteEnterprise level Citrix implementations, both on-prem and cloud.Mandatory specialist experience in maintaining Citrix Gateway, Connector,StoreFront, Delivery Controller, XenServerPreferable experience in Cloud and on-prem VDI installations.Able to propose and design System architecture on a new site and existing Systeminfrastructure.Behaviours & inter-personal skills – Key pointsManages complexityCollaborate:Keep the IT community informed on any new initiatives and decisions taken thatmight have an impact on day-to-day businessParticipate in Team and when needed, Project meetingsEnsure a cross functional alignment to minimize down-time within the overall ITlandscapeProactive and organizedGood written communication skillsAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesFlexibility for occasional global travel.Flexibility to work after office hours or on weekends, only when necessary duringemergencies or major changes.Proactively identify areas requiring more detailed instructions and clarify asnecessary with stakeholders to ensure no surprises;Complete tasks in compliance with applicable standards and work procedures.Identify areas for potential issues and proactively communicate with stakeholders toresolve issues, share information and provide guidance as required.Seek clarification or guidance as soon as difficulties arise and recommend alternativesolutionsPerform thorough self-check of all solutions prior to release for use by stakeholders;Properly plan work to allow adequate time for stakeholder feedback and adjustmentsto ensure intended functionality.
