Your role:

As a Linux Systems Specialist at CSC, you'll be responsible for administering, optimizing, and maintaining Linux systems to ensure reliable performance and security. Your expertise in Linux systems and ITIL practices will be instrumental in providing tailored solutions to meet the needs of our business units.

Some of the things you’ll be doing:

  • Responsible for the administration, and deployment of server hardware, Linux/Unix Operating Systems, RedHat OpenShift Container Platform (RHOCP), back-office services, and business critical applications.
  • Perform engineering and Tier 3 level support for a wide array of enterprise technology solutions.
  • Create technical documentation related to system configurations, process, procedure, and knowledgebase articles.



What technical skills, experience, and qualifications do you need?

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven eight-plus years’ experience years in Linux system administration, ITIL practices, and delivering a consistent and seamless Linux experience.
  • Experience with containerization products such as Docker, kubernetes, and RedHat OpenShift.
  • Experience with configuration management systems like Puppet, Ansible, or Salt.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware ESX 5 or similar virtualization technology.
  • Experience with HCI appliances such as Nutanix, EMC VSPEX, HP StoreVirtual, Hitachi UCP, etc.
  • Strong skills scripting in bash, Perl, python, awk, sed, etc.
  • Experience with Oracle WebLogic, Apache, and Tomcat web servers.
  • Shell scripting experience with at least one scripting language: Bourne shell, sed, awk, Perl, or python.
  • Understanding of LDAP and SSO technologies.
  • Strong focus on automation.
  • Strong commitment to customer service and customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to think strategically and proactively (rather than reactionary)
  • Ability to work in a fast passed, highly dynamic environment and “learn on the job”.
