We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Social Media Manager to join our team at Free Press Journal. As the Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for creating content and coming up with social media strategies to increase our brand awareness, and engage with our audience.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute social media strategies to increase brand awareness and drive website traffic.
  • Manage and maintain all social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.)
  • Create and curate engaging and informative content for social media platforms.
  • Work in collaboration with digital and print teams.
  • Stay updated with news events and follow social media trends, while keeping best practices in mind.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communication, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in social media management, preferably in the news media industry.
  • Be familiar with Canva and know the basics of video editing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of social media analytics and metrics.
  • Have a genuine interest in news.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple social media accounts simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) is a plus.
