Job Title : Manager of Software and Responsibilities :


- Play a critical role as a technical leader within our Engineering org in shaping and supporting our company vision, day-to-day operations, and culture.


- Define, design, and implement the strategic direction of Software development & support for Global Markets IT including a comprehensive end to end agile delivery approach for Quest Diagnostics International business.


- Create repeatable methods and best practices to assess, measure and communicate the overall software services delivery metrics of each project / release(s)


- Collaborate closely with quality, project management & service analysts & leads and institute software engineering operating mechanisms to support business objectives.


- Establish a high performing, inclusive engineering culture focused on innovation, execution, growth, and development.


- Collaborate closely with cross functional teams e.g.: Product, DevSecOps, Site Reliability, Observability & Support Operations


- Encourage innovation and foster an environment of continuous improvement.


- Provide guidance and apply Agile (SAFe, Scrum) and Software Engineering practices to streamline product delivery and reliable operations of :


There are five subheadings in this section Required Work Experience :


- 10/12+ years of overall software engineering experience


- Last 6+ years in Software Engineering lead role.


- Experience with object-oriented application design and development principals


- Strong experience on C#, ASP.Net, MVC, WCF, WPF, HTML4/5, CSS3, XML/XSLT and webservices development.


- Strong Experience on front end technologies Angular, Typescript Java and JavaScript.


- Experience with Middleware and integration of external API services


- Experience on TDD and strong experience on database like Oracle and SQL.


- In addition to the database experience knowledge on SSIS and SSRS would be required.


- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and processes (Jenkins)


- Knowledge of cloud architecture (Azure, Docker, Kubernetes) and innate drive to understand how digital trends can be applied.


- experience with source code management and continuous integration using Team Foundation Server


- A strong track record of crafting a comprehensive Software development strategy across entire tech stack.


- Experience with build automation and continuous integration tools like: GitLab CI, Jenkins or Maven


- Must have experience in cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)


- Demonstrated experience in hiring, building teams and retaining top talent, establishing scalable and sustainable test automation architecture and quality engineering best practices.


- Experience supporting an organization through digital transformation initiative.


- Establishing key metrics for SE across the organization.


- Experience working in a matrix organization and on an Agile Scrum model.


- Effective communication (oral and written) skills including problem solving, prioritizing and interpersonal relationship building.

Responsibility :


- Will approx. 5-7 have direct reports and lead the team of Software Engineers.

Required Education :


- Bachelors degree in computer science/Information Systems or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience


Preferred Education :


- Masters degree in computer science/Information Systems or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work :


- Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.


- Ability to manage and prioritize tasks and projects. Solid working knowledge of all relevant coding languages and security protocols.


- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills along with Lean-Agile Leadership.
