Systems Engineer III

Summary: Systems Engineers III is responsible for supporting quality solutions for our internal consumers. They will do BAU support to the overall Tesco Cloud Product Objectives; improving the efficiency of teams who have deployed in the private cloud and are used to the public cloud. You have knowledge of the latest technology trends; expertise & practical knowledge of the types of systems; infrastructure & applications used within Tesco.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead the implementation of the network security product strategy (combination of NSX, Load balancing, DDI) delivering key results against the wider infrastructure product objectives.
- Where new Network technologies are being introduced, implement them, and establish the best practice for their adoption.
- Working with the Product Management team supporting product discovery activities.
- Contribute to the Infrastructure Technology Roadmap for Tesco Network Services.
- Lead customer interactions including delivering technical discussions to wider technology teams on solutions, capture customer problem statements.
- Create, manage, and deliver the product backlog, support product manager with prioritisation, timescales and measurable values.
- Responsible for management and arranging new demo’s for new features
- Provide seamless transition to the infrastructure operational teams for new solutions and capabilities.
- Resolve incidents and problems associated with the technical area of responsibility.
- Keep my technical skills up to date and keep track of new technologies, understanding how they might benefit the Technology team and wider Tesco.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience with VMware NSX and wider VMware software stack (vCentre; vRealize) ;TKS
- Experience of Software Defined Networks
- Associated experience of automation technologies/configuration tools like GIT; Chef; Ansible or Puppet;
- Load Balancing platforms and technologies; preferably F5; along with associated management systems
- Good understanding of Network Management technologies such as Arista CVP ; Panorama; BIGiQ along with protocols like SNMP and practical experience of associated Network Management & Alerting Tools
- Good understanding of routing protocols
- Firewall experience; preferably Palo Alto; along with associated management platform
- Basic Splunk product knowledge for troubleshooting purposes
- Experience in Troubleshooting solutions for large, complex global organizations.
- Understanding of Agile way of working including writing user stories, agile ceremonies and working with customers
- Experience with creating observability for product area.
- Analytical and structured approach to design, process, and advanced troubleshooting.
- Well organized self-starter who takes personal ownership and accountability at required levels of the work stream and product life cycles; willing to go the extra mile at every opportunity.
- Builds and maintains positive relationships within and across teams.
- Communicates effectively, able to deliver and present both written and verbal designs, strategies, and concepts clearly.
- Take ownership, to keep up-to-date and embrace the latest industry technologies and associated supplier solutions.
