We are currently searching for a passionate and proactive Assistant Sales Manager in Food Ingredients to join our team in India.

About the Job


We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Assistant Sales Manager to oversee the sales and marketing of specialty food ingredients in the Food & Nutrition industries across West India. This is a B2B sales role where you will be responsible for driving revenue growth, building strong customer relationships, and contributing to market expansion.


In this role, you will focus on achieving sales targets, implementing effective marketing strategies, and providing valuable market insights to support decision-making. Your key responsibilities will include identifying new business opportunities, managing existing client accounts, and ensuring customer satisfaction through tailored solutions and exceptional service.


Role Functions


  • Promote and sell specialty food ingredients to food manufacturing companies, focusing on key applications in bakery, dairy, confectionery, beverages, and nutraceuticals.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective after-sales follow-up and monitoring.
  • Work with assigned sales targets and implement strategic initiatives to meet and exceed goals.
  • Understand customer needs and challenges, cultivate and manage strategic relationships to uncover mutually beneficial opportunities, and drive revenue growth by addressing unmet customer needs with tailored solutions.
  • Develop and manage a strong pipeline of opportunities by engaging with potential customers and identifying new business prospects.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with commercial and development teams at customer organizations to support collaboration and business growth.
  • Maintain and update CRM records, including account profiles, account plans, and opportunity pipelines, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Stay informed on market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to keep the market strategy relevant and competitive.


Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Food Technology (B.Tech/M.Tech) with 8-10 years of proven techno-commercial experience in food ingredients sales to the Food & Nutrition industry (B2B).
  • Demonstrated success in value-based selling, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to influence decision-making processes effectively.
  • Strong commercial, marketing, and technical knowledge with the ability to align solutions with customer needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the industry landscape, including knowledge of key players, customer presence in the assigned territory, and established contacts with industry professionals.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effective client engagement and internal collaboration.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively to support business development efforts.
  • Strong sense of ownership and the ability to work independently as an individual contributor while aligning with organizational goals.
