Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced (10+ year) Data Architect to join our team. The Data Architect will be responsible for designing, creating, deploying, and managing our organization's data architecture. This includes defining how data will be stored, consumed, integrated, and managed by different data entities and IT systems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Architecture Design:

- Develop and implement an overall organizational data strategy that aligns with business processes.- Define data architecture standards, principles, and models that align with the overall enterprise architecture.- Design and optimize data models for transactional, analytical, and big data use cases.

1. Data Management:

- Ensure data integrity and quality by developing robust data governance and data management policies.- Establish procedures for the collection, storage, and retrieval of data.- Oversee the data lifecycle management to ensure data is consistently high quality and meets organizational standards.

1. Integration and Interoperability:

- Design and manage data integration solutions to ensure seamless data flow across various systems.- Implement and manage ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and data integration workflows.

1. Technology Evaluation and Implementation:

- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance data management capabilities.- Oversee the implementation of data architecture solutions, ensuring they meet functional and non-functional requirements.

1. Collaboration and Communication:

- Work closely with data scientists, data analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure proper implementation and maintenance of data systems.- Provide training and support to data users within the organization.

1. Performance and Optimization:

- Monitor and optimize data systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues promptly.- Proven experience as a Data Architect, Data Engineer, or similar role.- Extensive experience with database management systems (DBMS), data warehousing solutions, and big data technologies.- Experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.- Strong knowledge of database design, data modelling, and data management principles.- Proficiency in SQL, NoSQL, and other database query languages.- Familiarity with data integration tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend) and ETL processes.- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.- Certification in data management or related fields.- Experience with data governance frameworks and practices.- Knowledge of machine learning and AI as it pertains to data architecture.
