The Assistant Manager Finance - AR and Revenue is responsible for overseeing the accounts receivable process, ensuring accurate and timely revenue recognition, and maintaining effective internal controls. This role involves working closely with various departments to optimize the revenue cycle, manage customer billing, and ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable Management:

  • Oversee the accounts receivable process, including invoicing, collections, and reconciliation.
  • Monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts to ensure timely collection.
  • Implement and maintain effective credit control policies and procedures.

Revenue Recognition:

  • Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Review contracts and agreements to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment.
  • Collaborate with the sales and legal teams to resolve any revenue-related issues.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to AR and revenue.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial analysis.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.

Internal Controls and Compliance:

  • Maintain and improve internal controls related to AR and revenue processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in AR and revenue management.
  • Leverage technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial processes.
  • Train and mentor team members on AR and revenue processes and policies.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to facilitate smooth billing and collections processes.
  • Address and resolve customer inquiries and disputes in a timely and professional manner.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance, with a focus on accounts receivable and revenue management.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and revenue recognition standards.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with data analysis tools.
