Key Responsibilities

  • TDS Calculation and Deduction:Accurately calculate the TDS amount on various payments to vendors and contractors as per specified tax rates.
  • TDS Payment:Deposit the deducted TDS amount into the government account through authorized banks.
  • TDS Return Filing:Prepare and file quarterly TDS returns (e.g., Form 24Q, 26Q) before the due dates.
  • TDS Certificate Issuance:Issue TDS certificates (like Form 16A) to deductees for the amounts deducted at source.
  • PAN Verification:Verify the Permanent Account Numbers (PANs) of deductees to avoid higher TDS deductions and ensure compliance.
  • Reconciliation:Perform monthly TDS reconciliations to verify the deductions and filings.
  • Record Keeping:Maintain detailed and robust financial records related to all TDS transactions.
  • Software Proficiency:Use accounting software such as Tally to streamline accounting processes and manage TDS-related data.
  • Compliance:Stay updated with changes in TDS laws and regulations to ensure continuous compliance.
