Land Acquisition Manager

Job Summary:
The Land Acquisition Manager is responsible for identifying, negotiating, and acquiring land parcels for renewable energy projects, water treatment plants (WTP), and sewage treatment plants (STP). The role involves coordinating with landowners, local authorities, and government bodies to secure legal, clear, and dispute-free land for project development while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Land Identification and Assessment:
- Identify suitable land parcels for renewable energy, WTP, and STP projects based on technical, environmental, and regulatory requirements.- Conduct feasibility studies, site visits, and surveys to assess land quality and suitability.
1. Negotiation and Acquisition:
- Negotiate terms and pricing with landowners, brokers, and stakeholders to finalize acquisition deals.- Prepare and review agreements, MoUs, and contracts with legal teams to ensure compliance.- Handle land purchase, lease, or conversion processes as required by the project.
1. Documentation and Legal Compliance:
- Ensure proper due diligence, title verification, and documentation for all land transactions.- Coordinate with legal teams to resolve disputes, litigations, or encumbrances related to land.- Obtain necessary approvals, permits, and clearances from regulatory bodies.
1. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build strong relationships with local authorities, government agencies, and community representatives.- Address concerns of local communities and resolve conflicts to facilitate smooth land acquisition.
1. Regulatory and Compliance Management:
- Ensure adherence to land acquisition laws, environmental regulations, and corporate policies.- Stay updated on government policies, subsidies, and incentives related to land acquisition for energy and infrastructure projects.
1. Coordination and Reporting:
- Work closely with project teams, surveyors, and liaison officers to align land acquisition activities with project timelines.- Maintain accurate records and prepare regular reports on the progress and status of land acquisition activities.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Real Estate, Urban Planning, or related fields.- Experience:- 7-10 years in land acquisition, especially in the renewable energy, infrastructure, or water sector.- Experience in managing large-scale land acquisition projects.- Skills Required:- Strong understanding of land laws, real estate regulations, and government policies.- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.- Proficient in preparing documentation, agreements, and presentations.- Problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.- Preferred Skills:- Experience with GIS tools and mapping software for land identification.- Familiarity with renewable energy project requirements, such as wind or solar farms.- Knowledge of environmental clearances and related compliance procedures.
