Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement database solutions to support business applications and analytical systems.
  • Develop logical and physical data models, ensuring data integrity and scalability.
  • Define database standards, best practices, and guidelines for development and maintenance.
  • Optimize database performance using indexing, partitioning, and query optimization techniques.
  • Collaborate with application developers and data engineers to integrate databases with applications and ETL pipelines.
  • Ensure data security, backup, disaster recovery, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Evaluate and recommend new database technologies, cloud database services, and tools to improve efficiency.
  • Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues, and provide solutions to ensure high availability.
  • Document database designs, processes, and architecture diagrams for reference and training.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in both SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Experience with cloud-based databases (such as AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud Spanner).
  • Proficient in database design, normalization, and using data modeling tools (ERwin, Lucidchart, etc.).
  • Knowledge of ETL processes, data warehousing, and big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark).
  • Hands-on experience with database security, backup, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
