About the Role

We are seeking an experienced QA Engineer to join our innovative team and ensure the quality and reliability of our cutting-edge EV charging platform. This role is critical to delivering robust software solutions that power charging infrastructure, manage energy distribution, and enable seamless integration with grid systems. You'll be working on technology that directly impacts the future of sustainable transportation and energy management across the UK, EU, and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive automated test frameworks for our EV charging management platform, including web applications, mobile apps, and API integrations
• Lead automation testing efforts across our intelligent scheduling, load balancing, payment processing, and energy trading systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers, system architects, product managers, and energy specialists to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle
• Implement and optimise testing strategies for IoT-connected charging infrastructure and real-time monitoring systems
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support rapid, reliable deployments of new features
• Leverage AI-powered testing tools to enhance test case creation, improve coverage, and accelerate delivery
• Identify, document, and track defects through resolution, ensuring our platform maintains the highest standards of reliability and performance
• Champion quality assurance best practices across the organisation
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of our development processes
• Ensure our solutions meet industry standards and compliance requirements relevant to energy and EV charging sectors

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills:

• Proven experience of 3+ years in automation testing, preferably within the public sector, energy, transportation, or similarly regulated industries
• Strong hands-on experience with automation testing tools such as Selenium, Appium, or comparable frameworks for web and mobile testing
• Proficiency in relevant languages (JavaScript, Python and/or Java) for test automation, scripting, and integration with modern development workflows
• Practical experience with AI-powered tools for test case creation, code generation, and intelligent testing approaches
• Solid understanding of Agile development methodologies and their application in fast-paced, iterative environments
• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git, and collaborative development workflows

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a track record of diagnosing and resolving complex technical challenges in production systems
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate quality concerns and technical concepts to stakeholders at all levels
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a collaborative, mission-driven environment
• Passion for sustainability and interest in contributing to the clean energy transition
• Self-motivated with strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience working with cloud-based technologies (AWS) and cloud infrastructure testing
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code
• Experience testing IoT systems, real-time data processing, or energy management platforms
• Familiarity with API testing, services architecture, and distributed systems
• Understanding of performance testing, load testing, and scalability validation
• Knowledge of security testing best practices and compliance requirements
• Experience with payment processing systems or financial transaction testing
