IoT Full Stack Developer

Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate and skilled IoT Full Stack Developer who will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our end-to-end IoT software ecosystem. You will build web dashboards, mobile apps, and backend services that seamlessly connect with our IoT devices deployed in rural environments. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and sustainability of water management for thousands of users.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web applications (using , , or Angular) and mobile apps (React Native or Flutter) for real-time monitoring and control of IoT devices.
• Design and implement scalable backend services , , Firebase Functions, or AWS Lambda) for device management, data ingestion, user authentication, and analytics.
• Integrate with IoT devices via protocols such as MQTT, WebSockets, and REST APIs, ensuring reliable and secure communication.
• Work closely with embedded/firmware engineers to define communication protocols and handle device data parsing and command transmission.
• Implement cloud infrastructure and databases (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Firebase Realtime Database, or Firestore) for device data storage, retrieval, and processing.
• Optimize applications for low bandwidth and intermittent connectivity typical in rural areas.
• Build and maintain role-based access controls, notifications, and data visualization dashboards.
• Participate in product design discussions, contribute ideas to improve user experience, and help shape our technology roadmap.
• Ensure code quality with testing, version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2+ years of experience in full stack web and mobile application development.
• Proficiency in frontend frameworks like , , or Angular.
• Experience in mobile app development using React Native or Flutter.
• Strong backend development skills in , , or serverless frameworks like Firebase Functions or AWS Lambda.
• Hands-on experience with databases: MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Firebase Realtime DB, or Firestore.
• Familiarity with IoT communication protocols: MQTT, WebSocket, HTTP REST APIs.
• Understanding of IoT device architecture and embedded systems communication.
• Experience working with cloud platforms like Firebase, AWS IoT Core, or similar.
• Knowledge of user authentication and authorization mechanisms (JWT, Firebase Auth).
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
• Passion for building products that impact rural communities positively.

Preferred (Bonus) Skills

• Experience with LoRaWAN, cellular IoT modules (SIM800/900), or other IoT hardware connectivity.
• Familiarity with OTA (Over-the-Air) updates and real-time device management.
• Knowledge of offline-first mobile app design.
• Exposure to UI/UX design tools like Figma or Material UI.
• Experience deploying production-grade applications with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
