We are seeking an experienced BI & Automation Specialist who is adept in designing & managing digital solutions, working together with a team of Data Engineers, BI, and Data Integration resources. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Power BI and Azure SQL or MS SQL, as well as expertise in data modelling and data governance. As an experienced BI & Automation Specialist, the candidate will be responsible for overseeing our BI and database support and administration, supporting a team of talented of data professionals, and ensuring our data infrastructure supports our business goals. The candidate will play a pivotal role in digital support and execution strategy to drive data initiatives that enhance our logistics operations. This role is a contract role for 2 years, with possible extension of 1 year. Key responsibilities: Design & develop reports and dashboard along with any required automation. Design queries and data pipelines using Azure SQL Server and Azure Logic App ensuring high availability, performance, and security. Develop and implement data models that support business processes and analytics needs. Collaborate with data integration team to ensure seamless data flow across various systems and platforms. Mentor Data Engineers, BI developers, and Data Integration specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. Collaborate with IT, business units, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver effective data solutions. Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and database optimization to meet business demands on a need basis. Ensure disaster recovery and backup procedures are in place and tested regularly. Provide technical guidance and support for complex data-related projects. Establish and enforce data governance policies and best practices to ensure data integrity, quality, and compliance. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in database technologies and data management practices. Qualifications: 8+ years of experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau. Expertise in writing TSQL in Azure SQL or MS SQL databases. Strong knowledge of data modelling, ETL processes, and data warehousing. Experience of scripting languages such as Python or R. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a detail-oriented mindset. Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels. Experience with cloud-based data platforms and tools is highly desirable. Preferred Skills: Understanding of data governance principles and practices. Certification in database management or related fields. Familiarity with big data technologies and platforms.
